Marble

Botticino marble

Botticino is a warm beige limestone-marble from Italy, valued for its even tone and subtle veining. It suits interiors where a neutral, consistent stone is preferred over dramatic patterning.

Character and behaviour

The base colour ranges from pale cream to warm biscuit, with fine grey or brown veining that rarely dominates. The surface polishes to a smooth, low-contrast finish. Being calcite-based, it reacts to acids and will etch if exposed to citrus or vinegar.

Best for

  • Large-format floor fields
  • Hallways and entrance areas
  • Bathroom walls and floors
  • Skirting and threshold details

Avoid for

  • Kitchen worktops near food prep
  • Outdoor or frost-exposed areas

Care and maintenance

Seal on installation and reseal every one to two years. Wipe spills promptly. Use pH-neutral cleaners only — acidic products will dull the polished surface.
