Glass
Clear float glass
Clear float glass is standard flat glass made by floating molten glass on molten tin. It is chosen for its optical clarity, consistent thickness, and wide availability.

Character and behaviour
The surface is smooth and highly transparent with a faint natural green tint from iron content. It transmits light efficiently without distortion. In residential use it reads as neutral and unobtrusive, making it a functional background material rather than a decorative one.

Best for
- Interior windows and partitions
- Cabinet door inserts
- Shelving and tabletop glazing
- Mirror substrate before coating
Avoid for
- Wet zones without safety specification
- High-impact or overhead applications
Care and maintenance
Wipe with a damp cloth and a streak-free glass cleaner. Hard water deposits require a mild acidic solution. The surface does not scratch easily but chips at edges if knocked.
