Emperador Dark marble

Emperador Dark is a deep brown Spanish marble with dense white and gold veining. It is chosen for its rich, warm tone and the visual weight it brings to interior walls.

Character and behaviour

The base colour ranges from dark chocolate to near-black brown, threaded with fine white and amber veins. Polished, it has a glassy depth; honed, it reads as quieter and more matte. Like all calcite-based marbles, it will etch if exposed to acids and absorbs moisture without a proper seal.

Best for

  • Feature walls and fireplace surrounds
  • Bathroom wall cladding
  • Vanity tops with low acid exposure
  • Dark, moody interior schemes

Avoid for

  • Kitchen worktops with daily acid contact
  • High-traffic unsealed floor areas

Care and maintenance

Seal on installation and reseal every one to two years. Wipe spills promptly. Use pH-neutral cleaners only — acidic products will etch the surface permanently.
